The CBR650R replaced the CBR650F for 2019, adopting Fireblade-inspired twin-headlight bodywork and a sportier stance with clip-ons below the top yoke and rear-set pegs. The engine gained higher compression, revised cams and breathing, revving 1,000 rpm higher for about 5% more power, and an assist/slipper clutch and torque control were added. A lighter frame, Showa SFF fork and radial calipers on floating discs sharpened the chassis while trimming around 6 kg.
